Many thanks for her support. For her or the children only, I would find her enough trying. The school fees, I have duly paid. I wrote to the school masters on November 21, 1912, and heard no more for nearly four months after I left Houston, until I was told that she had opened a co-boarding house and was doing well, and that I could send her to the school if she could manage to live. The school fees amount to $12 per month, paid directly to the masters. I paid the fees up to the end of November 1912. I therefore think she is heartless in demanding support after the musical arrangements. We were on the best of terms, and on my part, I have done my best to bring her up respectably and have known want through her foolish ways.
